Purpose

This Data Privacy Policy sets out the legal framework under which ASTRANADA ("the Atelier") collects, processes, retains, and protects the personal data of its collectors ("the Collector").

It is to be read alongside the Atelier's Privacy & Cookies Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Terms of Acquisition.

ASTRANADA operates as the sole data controller for all personal data collected through astranada.com and through direct commission correspondence.

Legal Basis For Processing

ASTRANADA processes personal data under the following legal bases:

Contractual Necessity

The primary basis for all data processing. Personal data is collected and processed exclusively to evaluate, execute, and fulfill a commission on behalf of the Collector. Without this data, the commission cannot be materialized or delivered.

Consent

Where the Collector has explicitly opted in to receive atelier communications — including notifications of new Limited Edition releases, collaborative works, or studio announcements — data is processed on the basis of consent. This consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the status of any active or completed commission.

Legal Obligation

Where applicable law requires the Atelier to retain or disclose certain data (including financial transaction records for VAT compliance), data is processed on the basis of legal obligation.

Data Retention

Personal data is retained for the duration of the commission relationship and for a period not exceeding five (5) years following the completion of the final transaction, unless:

The Collector formally requests deletion prior to this period, subject to the absence of any active legal or financial obligation requiring retention.

Applicable law requires a longer retention period, in which case data will be retained only for the minimum period legally required.

Measurement data, technical project files, and architectural parameters associated with completed commissions are retained within the Atelier's private computational archive to facilitate future bespoke scaling or companion commissions, unless the Collector requests their deletion.

Data Minimization

ASTRANADA collects only the minimum personal data necessary to fulfill its obligations. No data is collected speculatively, retained beyond its operational purpose, or processed for any use beyond those stated in this Policy and the accompanying Privacy & Cookies Policy.

Collector Rights

Every Collector retains full legal sovereignty over their personal data. Subject to applicable law, the Collector holds the right to:

 Access

Request a complete copy of all personal data held by the Atelier.

Rectification

Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete data on record.

Erasure

Request permanent deletion of personal data, subject to the absence of active legal, financial, or contractual obligations requiring its retention.

Restriction

Request that the Atelier restrict processing of personal data in defined circumstances.

Portability

Request transfer of personal data in a structured, machine-readable format where

technically applicable.

Objection

Object to processing conducted on the basis of legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes. Where objection relates to direct marketing, processing will cease immediately.

Withdrawal of Consent

Where processing is based on consent, the Collector may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted prior to withdrawal. 

Collectors located within the European Union or United Kingdom may exercise the above rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR respectively. All requests will be acknowledged within a reasonable timeframe and fulfilled in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Minors

ASTRANADA does not knowingly collect personal data from or accept commissions from individuals under the age of eighteen (18). If the Atelier becomes aware that data has been submitted by a minor, it will be permanently deleted without delay.

International Data Transfers

As a Dubai-based atelier serving a global collector base, personal data may be processed or stored on servers located outside the Collector's country of residence. Where such transfers occur, the Atelier ensures that appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with applicable international data protection legislation.

Amendments

The Atelier reserves the right to revise this Policy at any time. The current version will always be published at astranada.com. Continued engagement following any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
